Uploading Photos

Upload photos to your profile page by clicking the link “upload photos” in the upper left corner. From there you can choose to upload existing pictures you have on your computer or take photos right on your computer (if you have a webcam hooked up- see the help article on setting up my webcam).

There are two folders for pictures - public & private. Any pictures in your public folder are viewable to all members when they view your profile page. You must upload at least six, unique pictures to your public folder in order for your profile to become active. You must keep at least two photos (not including your verification photo) in which your face is clearly visible and recognizable in your public folder at all times. No nude photos are permitted in your public folder. You may keep any other photos in your private folder. You have the ability of sending these photos to other members on an individual, member basis.

To upload a photo, first click the folder (public or private) that you want to upload to. Next, click on the “upload photo” icon and select the file from your computer. Currently only .jpg files smaller than 15 MB can be uploaded. No nude photos are permitted on your profile page. If you delete a photo from your gallery there is no way to recover it.

If you would like to upload a photo to your about me section you will need to first save it to your private folder. Then go back to your profile, right-click on the picture you just uploaded, select "Open Link in New Tab” and copy the link from the address bar there. Next, go to edit profile and click on the Insert/edit image icon (right next to Emoticons, looks like a mountain) - simply paste the url. Voilà!

If you would like to upload multiple photos at once you can do so by uploading a zip file of your photos. Make sure all of the photos you want to upload do not contain any periods in the filename (i.e. my.cool.photo.jpg should be changed to mycoolphoto.jpg). Create a zip file of your photos and then upload that new zip file to the site. Your photos will automatically decompress to the area where you uploaded them. Although, there is a 15 MB size limit for each photo, there is no limitation on the size of your zip file.

If you do have a webcam hooked up to your computer you can choose to have it take a picture by clicking the camera icon on the photobooth tab for an instant photo.
